The Senate is the central body of academic self-administration. It decides in fundamental matters of research, study & teaching.
It consists of 35 members: 18 professors, 3 academic employees, 3 doctoral candidates, 3 other employees, e.g. from administration, and 4 students. By virtue of office, the Rector and the Chancellor are also represented.
Tasks:
- Election of full-time and part-time members of the Rectorate
- Approval of structural and development plans
- Opinion on the draft budget or economic plan, on university contracts and target agreements, and on job descriptions for professorships.
- Adoption of resolutions on study programs, higher education institutions, subject groups as well as joint institutions and commissions
- Adoption of resolutions on the basic regulations and other statutes
